Everyday was just exciting to see his physical changes. I knew he still can't see but he responds to our voices. By this time, he was just silent in one corner. He only cried when he is hungry. By the way, he is on a breastfeeding.
By this day, too, he had his first bath through my sister-in-law, Ate Rose. She is the eldest sister of my husband of three siblings. Well, I was scared then to give him a bath. I was worried I might break his bones. He was so very delicate then. Thanks to Ate Rose. She had already an experience being a mother and she knew well how to give the baby a refreshing bath.
The following day, February 8, 2020, he had his first vaccine for the Monovalent Oral Poliovirus Vaccine (mOPV) first dose at the Bagong Silang Health Center. This vaccine confer immunity to just one of
the three serotypes of OPV. OPV is administered by drops in the mouth.
After the vaccine is swallowed, the attenuated virus multiplies in the small intestine and lymph
nodes and causes the generation of antibodies against wild virus. It is also
shed through the inoculated person’s feces, thus indirectly immunizing other people through
the fecal-oral route.
